I have no doubt you’re feeling the increasingly intense energies swirling around us since Trump took office. Goodness knows, I feel them too. And they’re unlikely to let up anytime soon. There’s more going on here than just politics, but the energies of change are certainly playing out there in dramatic and shocking ways. We’re in an energetic cycle of big change that is hitting us on many levels – in our personal lives, in politics, and in our work, finances, health, and relationships. I can feel it in my bones, in the Earth, and goodness knows, our lives and social media feeds are filled with it.
One of the messages coming through loud and clear right now is that we need to be even more mindful than ever to stay gounded, ladle on the self-care, honor the limits of our capacity to engage, and step back to refresh and recenter as often as we need. Our ability to show up, contribute, and respond rather than react depends on us being centered, well, and connected to our own truth and inner wisdom, as well as the deep wisdom of Mama Nature and Spirit.
We have to step out of the constant stream of information, opinions, and heightened fearful energy from time to time to regain our center and come back into balance. To remember who we are, what’s good and right in this world, and what truly is important to us. Because when we swing too far out of balance, when we can’t hear our own truth, or when there’s some piece of wisdom we need to receive, our bodies and emotions let us know, sometimes dramatically.
I stepped back as much as possible from screens this week due to a nasty eye-lid infection. My right eyelid has been swollen and painful all week. It made that eye super sensitive to light and my vision has been fuzzy and unfocused. So I’ve done just enough to keep the Mojo Lab’s boat afloat and took some time to rest, heal, and recenter. It helped to remind me of what is magical in my everyday life and in the world at large, and I refilled my depleted well with love, beauty, and gratitude.
Something I’ve also been reminded of this month is the power of our own bodies as oracles, as messengers of our own inner wisdom and truth. I believe in the deep wisdom our bodies hold to tell us what we need to know, and mine certainly has been sending messages loud and clear. A need for a change in perspective. A need to soften the view I’ve been holding onto too tightly about my path forward. A need to get back to the basics of the core vision for my life and work, and how I want to contribute to the world. A need to create space so a new vision can emerge for charting a path in the rapidly changing landscape around us.
This eye thing has been physically painful, as well as a humbling experience whenever I caught a glance of it in the mirror. Thank goodness I’ve been able to keep a sense of humor about it all, as my Quasimodo jokes online can attest. But the bigger messages haven’t been lost on me. They are crystal clear.
We’re all being affected by the emotionally charged energies of Big Change swirling around us. Stepping back, recentering, tuning-into our own truths, and getting clear on what’s most important to us as a repeated practice ensures where we’ve set our sights is actually where we want and need to go. It also helps us perceive when the trail ahead has been washed out and, blessedly, when new vistas and pathways are revealed. Rich magic can be found there when we shift our vision and perspective enough to see it.
Wishing you loads of magic and joy (and twinkling eyes full of mystery and wonder),
The Softly Wild Path is calling
Softly Wild is a six-week journey for discovering a more soul-centered way of being and doing in your life that feels natural, creative, and nourishing. It’s a path for those who hunger for more meaning, magic, and soft wildness in their days.
Now more than ever, we’re living in a constantly on, frantic, busy-worshiping world that often leaves us feeling stressed, worn out, and disconnected from ourselves. It can be hard to know where your path lies when the world is coming on so strong.
Softly Wild helps you to reconnect with your inner wisdom, intuition, and the natural world around you, so you will always know where your true north lies. And that’s where the real magic and adventure begins.
When you feel those connections and can bring them to your life, all sorts of wonderful things start happening. You become more certain of who you are and what’s most important to you. You become more grounded in your own truth, body, and wisdom, and Nature’s energies and rhythms. Your creativity comes alive, and wonder and joy become your traveling companions. And the next steps on your path start opening up with more ease and clarity.
Registration is now open & the journey begins on February 13th!
